Acne is also known as the acne vulgaris. It is defined as the long term disease of skin due to infection of the sebaceous is most prevalent in adolescent. It infects both sexes in all ages but mostly in the adolescent.It can be at any place of the body sbut mostly on the face and neck. There are many causative factors of acne i.e. genetics, dietary habits, lifestyle, hormonal profile. The incidence of the acne is increasing day by day.


Changing level of hormonal profile i.e. androgen and testosterone is the causative factor of acne. A study conducted in March 2013 it is reported that the approximately round about 80% of the acne is due to genetic factors. The preventive measures are by improving general health especially addition of vitamin A in diet. Vitamin A is present in carrots, mustard greens, whole milk, mangoes, paprika, red pepper, cod liver oil, sweet potato, tomatoes, and papaya. Acne can be prevented by improving life style ie general cleanliness.

  • Vigorous washing acne areas and scrubbing irritates skin and lead to worse acne.
  • If hairs are oily shampoo hairs daily.
  • Use oil-free cosmetics and sunscreen.
  • Use non acne genic.
  • Do not squeeze, pop, or pick acne to prevent it.
  • For severe acne take treatment early to reduce prevalence of acne.
  • Use plenty of water, dehydration leads to acne occurrence.
  • Vitamins intake reduces acne factor.
  • Avoid unnecessary medications.
  • Avoid stress full life.
  • Take 8hr healthy sleep.
  • Change bed cover and pillow on daily basis.
  • Take low glycemic diet o improve ace.
  • Use fresh juices, fruits and minimize oily. diet.
  • Moisturize your skin on daily basis.
  • Use makeup and other skin products accordingly.
  • Remove makeup before sleep.
  • Avoid sharing tools with siblings who have acne.
  • Prevent yourself from direct sun light.

  • Avoid carbonated drinks, smoking, and alcohol.

Vitamin A
