Prevention is the best way to get rid of whiteheads

While any teenager dreads getting up with a whitehead on their face on prom day, there’s always a chance of this happening as whiteheads are formed by clogged pores. The trapped oil, dirt and dead skin cells develop into a white pustule or a whitehead. It occurs on the nose, chin and cheekbone of both men and women. As it spoils your looks, you naturally want to know the best way to get rid of whiteheads.

  • No popping with hands

Well, the most important thing to remember is no matter how inviting it is, DO NOT pop it with your hands as it only aggravates the problem to trigger pimples, infections and scars. While it’s not advisable to manually remove whiteheads, it can be done by first washing your hands with antiseptic soap.

Then sanitize the tip of the extractor used for extracting the whitehead with alcohol. Place it on the whitehead and press gently till it’s sebum is completely extracted. Do not force if the whitehead does not easily come out as it can lead to scars and an infection. Once you are done, wash your hands and then use ice cubes to massage your face as it is a natural toner which prevents infections.

It’s also possible to use OTC (over-the-counter) topical medications to remove whiteheads naturally. Wash your face, pat dry and wait for about 5-10 minutes and then apply the OTC acne treatment containing benzyl peroxide and salicylic acid on face, nose, chin and everywhere else there’s whiteheads.
